It is estimated that for the year 2008, 350 million x86 based CPUs went into laptops and desktops while another 3 billion CPUs were used in dedicated devices such as mobile phones, IP cameras, smart TVs and other devices with embedded CPUs.
The Xcore86 Device on Chip (DoC), enables traditional x86 operating systems and applications to run on non-traditional devices. The Xcore86 DoC is a complete computer that is not much bigger than a postage stamp. It is more energy efficient than any other x86 CPU offering 1Ghz performance.
Xcore will use the Xcore86 DoC to build products and devices which are smaller, more energy efficient and less expensive than possible using any other x86 compatible CPU.
Anything that can run on large, energy wasting desktops or expensive and fragile laptops, can be deployed on small, energy efficient, battery powered devices using the Xcore86 Device on Chip (DoC).
